The roller is a revolutionary device which has the amazing ability to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin without damaging it. It can be used by both men and women and has numerous beneficial effects:
Scar Removal – including acne scar removal
Stretch Mark Removal / Treatment
Cellulite Treatment / Cellulite Reduction or Removal
Hyper Pigmentation Treatment.
How it works: The roller consists of 192 tiny needles embedded in a roller wheel. As it is rolled over the skin It creates thousands of microscopic needle holes in the dermis, which prompts the skin to produce new collagen and elastin and generate new cells. The human body reacts to any injury by initiating the healing process, but usually it will only heal as far as it must to keep you healthy – which is different to healing to a cosmetic level. By persistently triggering the healing process, you encourage your body to continue healing until the job is finished.
This rationale is similar to that of the use of chemical peels. Peels deliberately ‘damage’ the skin in a controlled way and the skin responds by manufacturing new skin cells and collagen to ‘heal’ the perceived’ trauma. There is no real trauma – it is simply a way of triggering a renewal response from skin.
There is an additional benefit to the use of the roller. By creating thousands of microscopic holes the skins ability to absorb active ingredients in creams and lotions is significantly increased. This means that any active moisturisers applied to the skin will be much more effective.
Consider combining this roller with one of our collagen boosting active moisturisers. Or our EGF Stem Cell serum
Does it hurt? It all depends on the size of the needles! Needle size can vary between 0.2mm and 2mm. The rollers we supply have needles with a length of 0.3mm. At this length all you will feel is a mild tingling. It is not painful – in fact it is more akin to a tickling. You really should not feel any real discomfort at all. Surgeons and licensed practitioners may use needles of up to 2mm to provoke more ‘damage’ and therefore initiate a more dramatic response by the skin. But these techniques are carried out under anaesthetic. Rollers for home use do not require any anaesthetic although numbing cream may be used if using longer needles.
Will the needling be visible? – the effects of the roller are barely visible. The skin will redden shortly after the procedure but should wear off within a couple of hours. There is no bleeding. We recommend using the roller in the evening as any redness will certainly have worn off by the following morning.
How Often – Dermatologists recommend the use of the roller twice weekly. Increasing the frequency will not accelerate the process as the transformation is created by the skins own response. Use too often and you prevent the skin repairing itself!
Please note: we ship a free bottle of sterlising gel with all orders. Please use the gel to sterilise the skin before using the roller.
