A selection of chemical peels at various strengths. Chemical peels are classified as Alpha Hydroxy Acid or Beta Hydroxy Acid. Alpha Hydroxy Acids include Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Mandelic Acid. Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid.
Chemical Peels work by removing the surface layer of skin to reveal the newer, brighter layer of skin below. As the layer of skin removed by a home chemical peel is only 1/10 the thickness of paper then it only takes a minute or two for the peel to work. Included with all our chemical peels (apart from 5% solutions) is a bottle of neutralising gel, an applicator, and full instructions.
If you have not carried out an at home chemical peel before or are unsure what type of peel will be best for you then do, by all means, get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise you. Please be very cautious about buying chemical peels from some suppliers on Ebay. if the peel seems too cheap then you are right to be wary. Many sellers on Ebay are using technical grade glycolic acid a chemical that is wholly unsuitable for cosmetic use. Technical grade gylcolic acid is used in industrial applications. Further, cheap peels on Ebay are likely to be unbuffered. Buffering is the process whereby the acidity (the pH) of the peel solution is adjusted by the addition of a suitable alkali to increase the pH to a level safe for skin application. Certain sellers do not have the know-how or the equipment to correctly buffer a peel solution and so don’t bother. These peels are dangerous and will probably damage your skin.
